Darshan of Lord Jagannath and His siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will remain suspended for three hours in the Shreemandir on Sunday.

Puri, Sept 14: Darshan of Lord Jagannath and His siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will remain suspended for three hours in the Shreemandir on Sunday.

According to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the devotees will not be allowed Darshan of the deities from 5 pm to 8 pm because of Bamana Janmotchav (Birthday of Lord Bamana, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu)

Bamana Janmotsav will be celebrated after mid-day Dhupa is conducted.

It may be noted that Lord Vishnu had taken Bamana Avatar (Dwarf Incarnation) to kill King Bali, who was very proud to be a giver.
Special rituals are held in the Shreemandir on this day. Lord Jagannath is adorned in Bamana Vesha.
