Forest officials rescued as many as 28 wild boars, including cubs, from an abandoned well at Bhagamunda of Junga gram panchayat under Harichandanpur block in Keonjhar district Monday morning.
Keonjhar, Oct 28: Forest officials rescued as many as 28 wild boars, including cubs, from an abandoned well at Bhagamunda of Junga gram panchayat under Harichandanpur block in Keonjhar district Monday morning.
However, a cub of wild boar couldn't be rescued as it died in the muddy water.
According to the information, wild boars fell into an abandoned well while they were moving in a group last night. Some locals first saw the wild boars in the well and informed the forest officials.
On being informed, local forest officials rushed in and started a search operation. After a few hours' attempt, they managed to rescue 28 wild boars safely.
