According to the information, the six persons had attacked the elephant with sharp weapon as it has destroyed their farmlands.
The carcass of the tusker was found in the Tunguri forest on late Friday night.
Later, the forest department officials reached the spot and seized the body. The forest personnel launched a probe and arrested the six persons.
