The new cases included 324 children in the age group of 0-18 years. While 1,229 cases were detected from among the quarantined people, the rest 877 reported as local contacts.
Among the districts, Khurda reported highest 429 cases, followed by Sundargarh 219, Cuttack 145, Angul 97, Kendrapada 76, Nayagarh 70, Balangir 65, Gajapati 64, Dhenkanal 61, Jharsuguda 56, Sambalpur 56, Boudh 55, Jajpur 53, Koraput 45, Kandhamal 44, Nawarangpur 43, Rayagada 43, Mayurbhanj 42, Balasore 40, Bhadrak 40, Keonjhar 40, Nuapada 38, Sonepur 37, Kalahandi 36, Ganjam 35, Puri 34, Jagatsinghpur 32, Bargarh 17, Deogarh nine and Malkangiri seven.
Besides, 78 cases were reported from the State Pool.
During the period, 5,376 infected people recovered from the infection and, thus, the total recoveries stood at 12,34,352, informed the department.
The active cases of the State stood at 23,672, it added.
