The accused officials have been identified as Purna Chandra Nayak, Forester of Kopia Sinapalli Range under Khariar Division; and Sabnam Firdosh, Forest Guard in the district.
The accused duo was caught red-handed while taking the bribe amount of Rs 28,000 form a person for release of his seized motor cycle and bed cot, said a Vigilance official.
The total bribe amount has been recovered from the possession of the accused duo.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance registered a case against the accused duo under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation against accused Forester Nayak and Forest Guard Firdosh Sabnam is in progress, the official added.
