New Delhi, March 15: In a strong message to BJP Members of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that nepotism would not be allowed in the party.
Addressing the first meeting of the BJP parliamentary party after its resounding victory in Assembly polls in four states, the Prime Minister took the responsibility of denying tickets to family members of MPs in the recent state polls.
All the former national presidents of party welcomed Prime Minister Modi and BJP chief J.P. Nadda with garlands and congratulated them for the victory.
BJP sources said: "Prime Minister Modi told the MPs that if anyone's family member was denied a ticket, it was his responsibility and that nepotism would not be allowed in the party. The BJP will fight against nepotism and dynasty politics in the other political parties."
Referring to the recent Assembly polls, the Prime Minister said that politics of caste is ending. "Prime Minister said that 'jativaad ki rajneeti' (politics of caste) is coming to end," a BJP MP said.
It is further learnt that Prime Minister Modi criticised chief ministers of
opposition-ruled states for politicising the evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine. "Prime Minister said that instead of consoling people, chief ministers of opposition-ruled states are writing letters to the Centre to evacuate students from their state first. He also said that the only BJP has reached out to the family members of Indian citizens stranded in Ukraine," another BJP MP said.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar briefed the BJP lawmakers about the 'Operation Ganga' and Ukraine situation.
The Prime Minister lauded efforts of all those involved in the process to evacuate the Indian citizens.
The BJP Parliamentary Party also paid tributes to singer Lata Mangeshkar, Indian student killed in Ukraine and Bajrang Dal activist Harsha who was assassinated in Karnataka by observing two minutes' silence.

'Animal' stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil, Bobby, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The flick revolves around the complex relationship of a business magnate Balbir Singh (Anil) and his son Arjun Singh (Ranbir). After tragedy befalls Balbir, Arjun sets out to exact vengeance against his rival Viraj Surve (Bobby) and pledges to never leave his family, leading to a gruesome gang war.
Anil, who enjoys a fanbase of 5.8 million followers on Instagram, shared a photo with Bobby, in which both the actors are posing shirtless. Anil is wearing a black joggers, while Bobby is donning black shorts.
The post is captioned as: "Animal Ka Baap and Animal Ka Enemy Posing."
Bobby dropped red heart emojis in the comment section. Hrithik Roshan commented some fire emojis. Anil's son-in-law Karan Boolani commented: "Beast Mode."

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: A maid was caught on CCTV while stealing cash from her employer's cupboard at Jharpada Jagannath Nagar road under Laxmisagar police station in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra had hired Mami Patra as cook in February this year with a monthly salary of Rs 4,000. Mahapatra's house renovation work was going on due to which he had approximately Rs one lakh cash at home.
Finding an opportunity, unaware of the presence of CCTV, Patra was seeing steal cash and looking for other valuables in the cupboard.
Mahapatra lodged a written complaint in this regard in Laxmisagar police station against Mami Patra.

Lucknow, Nov 29: The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh presented the supplementary budget of Rs 26,760.67 crore for the financial year 2023- 24 in the state Assembly on Wednesday.
The supplementary budget was presented in the House by state Finance Minister Suresh Khanna on the second day of the winter session.
In this supplementary budget, provisions have been made by the government for many new projects.
Presenting the supplementary budget, Khanna said that the proposed size of the supplementary budget for the financial year 2023-24 is Rs 26,760.67 crore.
Within this, the expenditure on the revenue account is Rs 19,46,39 crore, and the capital account expenditure is Rs 9,714 crore.
The proposed supplementary demand encompasses proposals for a total new demand of Rs 7,421.21 crore, including proposals worth Rs 21,339.46 crore for ongoing schemes.
Additionally, the supplementary budget includes provisions for farmers, allocating Rs 900 crore for free electricity to farmers and Rs 400 crore for clearing dues of sugarcane farmers.
Furthermore, there are provisions in the supplementary budget for the development of the state capital region.
The budget has an allocation of Rs 2000 crore for the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana.

Rs 510 crore for the establishment of the PM Mega Integrated Textile Zone and Apparel Park in Lucknow-Hardoi under the PM Mitra Scheme and Rs 100 crore for the implementation of the Uttar Pradesh Data Centre Policy.
Meanwhile, with a new set of rules prohibiting legislators from carrying phones, political posters or flags in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly coming into force, Samajwadi Party (SP) members continued their protests against the government on the second day of the session too by wearing black clothes.
Shivpal Singh Yadav, SP national general secretary and veteran leader of the party, has raised significant concerns about the Yogi government's supplementary budget.
Shivpal alleged that more than 50 per cent of the budget allocated to any department in the state has not been utilised.
He accused the Yogi government of being fixated on numbers without effective implementation.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav questioned whether the government procured wheat or let private companies handle the purchases.
He highlighted that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on farming equipment ranges from 12 per cent to 18 per cent.
