The initiative aims to bolster individual and organizational capacity development for civil servants across the nation, they added.

Mission Karmayogi was launched in September 2020, and it has made substantial progress since then. It envisions a future-ready civil service rooted in Indian ethos, with a global perspective.

The National Learning Week (NLW) will be the largest event of its kind providing fresh impetus towards individual and organisational capacity development for Civil Servants. This initiative will stimulate a renewed commitment to learning and development. NLW aims to create a “One Government” message, align everyone with national goals and promote lifelong learning.

NLW will be dedicated to learning through various forms of engagement by individual participants and Ministries, Departments, and Organizations. During NLW, each Karmayogi will commit to achieving a target of at least 4 hours of competency-linked learning.

The participants may complete the targeted hours through a mix of individual role-based modules on iGOT, webinars (public lectures/policy masterclasses) by eminent persons.

During the week, eminent speakers will deliver talks on their areas of prominence and help them work towards citizen-centric delivery in a much more effective manner. During the week, the Ministries, Departments and Organisations will also organise seminars and workshops to enhance domain specific competencies.

Till now, the apex court live-streamed proceedings of the Constitution Bench and other hearings of national importance on YouTube.

Further, it utilised artificial intelligence and natural language processing technology for live transcription of significant hearings.

Recently, the SC hearings in the NEET-UG matter and R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital suo moto case garnered huge public views.

The Supreme Court, in its judgment in the Swapnil Tripathi (2018) case, had favoured live streaming the proceedings in important cases. Thereafter, the full court decided to live-stream the proceedings of the Constitution benches to provide citizens from every nook and corner of the country to witness the top court’s proceedings.

In August last year, during the Constitution Bench hearing in "Re: Article 370 of the Constitution", Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud had said the top court was setting up its own cloud software for video conferencing to enable virtual hearings in all lower courts across the country.

"In Phase III of eCourts (Project), we have a huge budget, so we are in the process of setting up our own cloud software for video conferencing," he said.

The Chief Justice had pointed out that during the pandemic, courts across India held as many as 43 million hearings through virtual mode.

In another initiative shedding the colonial imprint and traditional attributes, under the leadership of CJI Chandrachud, who is set to demit office on November 10, the statue of Lady Justice, in the judges' library of the Supreme Court, now holds a copy of the Indian Constitution, instead of a sword, and the blindfold has come off to leave her with open eyes. Traditionally, the blindfold suggested equality before the law, meaning that the dispensation of justice should not be influenced by the status, wealth, or power of the parties. The sword historically symbolised authority and the capacity to punish injustice.

However, the scales of justice in the right hand of Lady Justice have been retained, symbolising a societal balance and the significance of careful consideration of facts and arguments from both sides before arriving at a verdict. (IANS)

"Almost all of the accused persons are graduates while some of them also have technical knowledge... a team of (Bhubaneswar-Cuttack) Commissionerate police will go to Kolkata for verification of their original identity, educational qualification and other criminal antecedent," Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra told media persons.

The Bhubaneswar DCP said that the city police have sought the permission of a court to take all the six accused cyber fraudsters on a five-day remand. He expressed the hope that more information would be elicited during the interrogation of these accused persons.

The accused persons were on Thursday presented before the court which later sent them to 14 days of judicial custody.

Mishra also asserted that several other agencies have contacted the Commissionerate police in connection with the case.

"Haider Ali, the main accused, revealed that his team of six members was involved in sending fake emails to national and international clients who had subscribed to an antivirus software," police sources said.

"They impersonated customer care agents, providing fake numbers and inducing customers to make fraudulent transactions, earning them a monthly income of Rs 1 lakh. The team operated as call openers, interacting with customers in English to dupe customers," the sources said.

Police further claimed that the accused persons worked like a criminal syndicate, specifically a cybercrime, where they impersonated a customer care agency, committing identity theft, forging valuable documents, and stealing credentials from genuine customers.

Police on Wednesday busted the fake call centre being operated from an apartment in Sundarpada area of Bhubaneswar. As many as six accused persons, belonging to Kolkata, were arrested during the police raid. (IANS)
