The changes come after the duo was named in India's squad for the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai from September 19. There were changes in other teams as well after India A captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep have been named in India’s Test squad for the series against Bangladesh and will not feature in the upcoming round.

The selectors have named Pratham Singh (Railways) as a replacement for Gill, Akshay Wadkar (Vidarbha CA) as a replacement for KL Rahul and SK Rasheed (Andhra CA) as a replacement for Jurel. Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani will replace Kuldeep in the squad, whereas Aaqib Khan (UPCA) will replace Akashdeep in the squad.

Mayank Agarwal has been named as the Captain of India A.

Fast bowler Yash Dayal has received his maiden national call-up while Sarfaraz Khan, who too has been named in India’s squad, will feature in the second-round game. Himanshu Mantri (Madhya Pradesh CA) has been added to India B squad.

As Axar Patel will join Team India from Team D, he will be replaced by Nishant Sindhu (Haryana CA). Tushar Deshpande is ruled out of the second round owing to a niggle and he will be replaced by India A’s Vidwath Kaverappa.

Team C squad remains unchanged for the second round.

State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari Tuesday said flood situation is under control in the state and no casualties have been reported due to the deep depression-induced rain or landslide.

He said only one person had sustained injuries in the landslide.

After a high-level review meeting on the situation in Bhubaneswar, Pujari said all 30 districts witnessed rainfall due to the deep depression while Malkangiri district recorded the maximum rainfall.

Of the 30, Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) teams have been deployed in 12 districts.

"The ODRAF and Fire services personnel performed the rescue and relief duty despite disrupted road connectivity in the affected Malkangiri district. As a result, no casualties have occurred in the district despite heavy rain. As many as 80 boats were deployed to deal with the situation. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team was also ready to provide backup support," said Pujari.

He added that the Union Home Ministry was also apprised of the situation and was requested to provide the Border Security Force for rescue operations if required. The Union Home Ministry has put BSF on standby too. The union government has also assured to provide two choppers for the rescue operations.

"Around 1,700 to 1,800 persons have been evacuated and arrangements are made for their stay and food in Malkangiri district. They will stay in the relief camps till the water recedes completely. We are also prepared to tackle the post-flood situation in the affected areas of the state," added Pujari.

He said that the health department officials in both districts have been asked to remain on alert.

Pujari expressed hope that the situation would return to normal within the next two days.

The government will provide adequate compensation to the affected people after assessment of the damage to houses and crops due to the rainfall.

Communication at several places in Malkangiri and Koraput remained cut off as the water level was above many low-lying bridges.

As many as 121 villages in 11 blocks in Koraput and 12-gram panchayats in four blocks of Malkangiri district are affected due to heavy rainfall.

The deep depression, which lay centred over North Chhattisgarh and adjoining interior Odisha, is likely to move west-northwest wards across north Chhattisgarh and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area over Chhattisgarh and adjoining East Madhya Pradesh Tuesday evening.

The party has pitted Capt Yogesh Bairagi, who is the state Vice President of the BJP's youth wing and Co-Convenor of Haryana Sports Cell, as per his social media profiles, against Olympian and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat in Julana.

Krishna Gahlawat has been fielded from Rai, Bimla Chaudhary from Pataudi, and Pradeep Sangwan from the Baroda assembly seat. Naseem Ahmed has been named from Ferozepur Jhirka and Aizaz Khan from Punahana. The surprising name is Sanjay Singh from Nuh.

The BJP has also changed the candidate for the Pehowa seat. Earlier, the party had given the ticket to Kanwaljit Singh Ajarana. Due to opposition, he declined to contest. Now the party has made Jai Bhagwan Sharma the candidate.

Earlier, the BJP had released its first of 67 candidates list, fielding Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from the Ladwa constituency and senior party leader Anil Vij from the Ambala Cantt seat. The BJP changed the constituency of Chief Minister Saini as he currently represents the Karnal Assembly seat, which he won in a bypoll in June.

Saini on Tuesday filed his nomination papers from the Ladwa Assembly constituency in Kurukshetra district. Accompanied by his wife Suman Saini, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal, Saini held a roadshow before filing the papers. On the wheel of a tractor, in an attempt to woo the influential Jats community, during the roadshow, a confident Saini told the media that “voters have made up their minds to elect the BJP government for the third time”.

During the electioneering, Saini, who is leading it by travelling far and wide across the state, is listing out measures taken by the BJP government to compensate the farmers, the Dalits and the poor.

Countering the Congress’ ‘Haryana Maange Hisab’ campaign, he accused the opposition of spreading lies.

Political observers say the ruling BJP, which is confident of its return to power with a majority for the third-consecutive term under the leadership of first-time Chief Minister and Other Backward Class (OBC) leader Saini, has been facing anti-incumbency and farmers’ anger. The BJP’s main rival, the Congress, which ruled the state for a decade till 2014, has an edge over it with the support of farmers, traders and government employees. Senior Congress leader and two-time Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda is working hard to return to power amid the party’s internal ‘war of supremacy’.

Even the AAP has launched its campaign by targeting the BJP government over the issues of unemployment, law and order and the Agnipath scheme. Contesting solo on all seats, the party launched the ‘Kejriwal Ki 5 Guarantee’ campaign, promising free electricity, free medical treatment, free education, Rs 1,000 per month to every woman and employment for the youth.
