Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended the inaugural session on Building Workforces for Future: Development of Skills for Industry 4.0 at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024.

Gandhinagar, Jan 11: Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday attended the inaugural session on Building Workforces for Future: Development of Skills for Industry 4.0 at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, held at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

While speaking at the event, the Minister mentioned that the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 is the perfect platform for reflecting on the developmental journey of the country to set national priorities.

Paying reverence to Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Pradhan expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for enhancing the country’s standing at the Global High Table.

The Minister mentioned that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Gujarat model of development has become a guide for states’ skilling efforts to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. He added that the NEP-led synergies in the education and skill ecosystem will make the Yuva Shakti of the country future-ready.

Pradhan emphasized how the Demography, Demand and Decisive Government have become the factors of the India moment. He also said that the start-up and innovation culture of India has made the country a hub of knowledge and skills.

The Minister also talked about enhancing proficiency, productivity, skill and competency of the vast demography. He highlighted how India is firmly positioned to make use of Industry 4.0, which is sweeping the world of industry and innovation.

Pradhan also mentioned that when the world's population is rapidly ageing, India is empowered by its youth. He also stressed that experts have suggested that in the next 25-30 years, the country will lead in terms of the working-age population. For realising the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, everyone has to contribute, especially the youth, he added.

Pradhan emphasised the importance of Gujarat and its development-oriented, inclusive and participative model. The biggest strength of the 'Gujarat Model' is 'Women-led development', he added.

The Minister commended the State’s effort in driving the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. He mentioned how the government, in line with the NEP, is diligently working on fostering greater synergy between education and skills. Today, the world looks towards India to provide low-cost, quality, sustainable, and scalable solutions to global challenges, Pradhan said.

Prominent industry leaders, entrepreneurs, officials of Gujarat Government, and other dignitaries were also present at the session.

Odisha Lost 25 Years Of Development Under Naveen Patnaik Government: Amit Shah

Bhubaneswar, May 21: Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday asserted that Odisha lost 25 years of development under the 25-year of Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government in the state, during which various sectors like healthcare, education and infrastructure got “derailed”.

Addressing back-to-back election rallies in Sambalpur and Nayagarh ahead of the third phase of simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly polls in the state on May 25, Shah said the ongoing polls are to make Narendra Modi the PM for the third term and restore Odisha's glory, which has been "destroyed" by the 25-year of Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government.

“Odisha is the most prosperous state in the country, but people of the state are poor. If you want to get rid of this, you need to vote for (Narendra) Modi ji and make him the PM again. You gave Naveen babu 25 years, but the state lost 25 years of development,” he said at the public meeting at Nayagarh.

“Odisha's healthcare, education system and infrastructure got derailed under the BJD rule; only the BJP government under the direction PM Modi can bring these back on track in the State,” he asserted.

In Sambalpur, Shah said that Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should retire due to his "advanced age and health issues", while promising that the BJP will make a young Odia-speaking 'Bhumiputra' (son or daughter of the soil) as the CM if the saffron party is voted to power in the state.

"Naveen babu has made a Tamil officer ruler of the state. Oust the BJD government... we will give a young Odia-speaking Chief Minister. If BJP is voted to power in Odisha, a 'bhumiputra' will rule the land of 'Utkala Bhumi' and not a Tamil babu”, Shah said.

Shah also sought clarification from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the missing keys of Puri Jagannath temple’s Ratna Bhandar. He added the BJP government will punish those responsible for the missing keys of the Ratna Bhandar, If BJP is voted to power in Odisha.

Elections 2024: JP Nadda, Yogi Adityanath, Himanta Biswa Sarma To Campaign In Odisha On May 23

Bhubaneswar, May 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J P Nadda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will campaign for the saffron party candidates for the ongoing elections to Lok Sabha and State Assembly in Odisha on May 23, informed BJP's state unit vice-president Golak Mohapatra on Tuesday.

JP Nadda will address four election rallies at Karanjia, Dhamnagar, Barchana and Balikuda on May 23, Mohapatra said.

Yogi Adityanath, who will campaign in Odisha for the first time this election, will address rallies at Chilika and Kulia on the same day, he added.

Similarly, Himanta Biswa Sarma will address rallies in Deogarh, Barbil, Choudwar and Baramba on May 23.

On the other hand, BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Meerut and 'Ramayan' fame, Arun Govil is slated to address public meetings in Champua, Telkoi, Bhubaneswar and Dhenkanal on May 22.

The assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Odisha are being held across four phases--from May 13 to June 1.

Polling for the first phase was conducted in 28 Assembly seats and four Lok Sabha constituencies on May 13, while the voting for five Lok Sabha constituencies and 35 Assembly segments for the second phase of polls was held on May 20.

The remaining phases of the polls will be held on May 25 and June 1. The results will be out on June 4.

IPL 2024: SRH Win Toss, Opt To Bat First Against KKR In Qualifier 1

Ahmedabad, May 21: Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Tuesday.

The winner of the encounter will directly qualify for the title clash while the loser will get another chance to play the final. SRH are playing with the same team in the high-pressure game.

"We gonna have a bat, looks like a good wicket, and expect a high-scoring game. The batting group has been amazing for us and hopefully more of the same tonight. We are playing pretty much the same eleven as the last game," Cummins said at the toss.
On the other hand, KKR have replaced Phil Salt with Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer said, "I would have loved to bowl. I had a chat with the curator, and he said it's a mixed soil, let's see how it plays, hoping for a good game. Important that we keep the momentum going and stay in the present. Great achievement (finishing at the top of the table) and everyone is proud of it, we are taking one match at a time, and we need to be positive about what's going to happen here. We are going with the same team."
