With the ruling BJP in Haryana in a battle mode for the Assembly elections slated in October, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday chaired a brainstorming session of the party and announced that the BJP will go to the polls under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini.

Panchkula (Haryana), June 29: With the ruling BJP in Haryana in a battle mode for the Assembly elections slated in October, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday chaired a brainstorming session of the party and announced that the BJP will go to the polls under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini.

BJP leaders said that two sessions were convened in Panchkula to review the party’s preparations for a 100-day roadmap to ensure that it retains power in the state for the third time on the trot.

The sessions saw the gathering of nearly 4,500 BJP workers in the presence of Chief Minister Saini, his Cabinet colleagues, Union Minister and former CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and the party's election co-incharge for Haryana, Biplab Kumar Deb, the former CM of Tripura.

With a focus on the strategy to intensify the party's campaign to strengthen its 'emotional bond' with the people, Amit Shah told the gathering to reach out to the masses by going to their doorsteps across all the 90 Assembly constituencies in the state.

The Home Minister urged the party workers to highlight the government’s policies and programmes to empower the common masses even in the far-flung villages, particularly those who were denied the benefits of different social welfare schemes by the previous governments.

“Amit Shah told the gathering that the main aim of the outreach programmes is to know about the problems being faced by the people and find solutions to them. He categorically said that the masses at the grassroots level should greet the ‘Panna Pramukhs’ as their family members, and not as party men,” a source told IANS.

Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta told the media that 50 workers from every Assembly constituency were invited to the meeting.

The new government in Haryana was formed in March this year after the BJP severed its four-and-a-half-year-old tie with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) led by Dhushyant Chautala, with Naib Singh Saini succeeding Manohar Lal Khattar as the Chief Minister.

The Assembly has a total strength of 90 legislators. However, after the death of Badshahpur legislator Rakesh Daultabad, the resignation of Power Minister Ranjit Singh, and the resignation of Mullana legislator Varun Chaudhary after his election from the Ambala Lok Sabha seat, the House has 87 MLAs now.

The BJP, which has 41 MLAs, enjoys the support of Haryana Lokhit Party’s (HLP) lone legislator Gopal Kanda, and Nayan Pal Rawat, an Independent legislator.

In the Opposition, the Congress has 29 legislators, the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) has 10, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has one legislator.

Three Independents have extended their support to the Congress, while another Independent MLA, Balraj Kundu, has been voicing his opposition to the BJP.

Kareena Kapoor Khan's Film 'The Buckingham Murders' To Arrive In Theatres This September

Mumbai, July 1: Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan's film 'The Buckingham Murders' is all set to hit the theatres. On Monday, the makers shared that the film, which is directed by Hansal Mehta, will arrive in cinema halls on September 13.

Sharing the update Kareena took to Instagram Story and uploaded the film's poster and wrote, "See you at the cinemas. 13th September."

The film is written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker. It is produced by Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films alongside Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

With this film, Kareena is making her debut as a producer.

According to Variety, a US-based media house, the film follows Jasmeet Bhamra (portrayed by Kareena Kapoor Khan), a detective and mother who, after losing her own child, must investigate the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire, going down a rabbit hole of secrets, where almost everyone in the small town becomes a suspect.

In an interview with Variety, Kareena revealed that her character in the film is inspired by Kate Winslet's role in 'Mare of Easttown.' She said, "I love 'Mare of Easttown' and when Hansal came to me, I said this is something that I've really been dying to do. So we've moulded a little bit on those lines, she plays a detective cop in that."

Talking about the film, Hansal Mehta told Variety, "It was a refreshing change to make a film set in the UK., to have Kareena as this detective, to make an authentic procedural, but not to make it about the procedure and make it about grief or trauma and about closure. Kareena's face - there are a million stories on that face. It's amazing - when you put the camera on her and without saying anything it tells you so many stories, in my film she's stunning."

Mehta also revealed that he has plans to make the film part of a film franchise, depending on the reception."I have stories taking Jaspreet Bhamra forward," Mehta told Variety.

Kareena was last seen in 'Crew', which also starred Tabu and Kriti Sanon. (ANI)

"Rahul Gandhi Has Degraded The Position Of LoP...":Ashwini Vaishnaw

New Delhi, July 1: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks in the Lok Sabha and said that the latter has taken up a position of Leader of Opposition for the first time and has made very irresponsible statements thus bringing the level of politics down. He said that Rahul Gandhi has degraded the position of the Leader of Opposition, which was once handled by prominent leaders.

"The position of the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) is a highly responsible one. Leaders like Atal Ji, Advani Ji, and Sushma Ji have handled this responsibility with great care. Today, Rahul Gandhi has taken up a position for the first time and has made very irresponsible statements. Rahul said that no compensation is given to the martyrs under the Agniveer scheme. This is the biggest lie. Today, the Defence Minister clearly stated in Parliament that martyrs under the Agniveer scheme receive a compensation of Rs 1 crore. Rahul Ji should check his facts before making such statements. Congress has always raised such questions about the army and tried to mislead the country," Vaishnaw said.

"Rahul Gandhi insulted the constitutional position of the Speaker. This is not the first time; remember when Rahul Gandhi tore up his own government's ordinance. During the UPA government, the constitutional position of the Prime Minister was undermined by the unconstitutional body called the National Advisory Council (NAC), which was run by Sonia Gandhi," he added.

Further, the BJP leader added that the Congress has always aimed to weaken constitutional structures.

Vaishnaw also mentioned that compensation in Ayodhya has been given to the affected people. "What does Rahul know about culture? Today, he made another misleading statement regarding compensation in Ayodhya. The state government and administration have already provided clear figures on this. A compensation of Rs 1253 crore has been given to 4215 affected shopkeepers, and relocation has been carried out by the administration," he added.

Levelling up his attack on the Congress leader, Ashwini Vaishnaw said today Rahul Gandhi insulted the entire Hindu community.
"The most concerning issue is that today Rahul Gandhi labelled the entire Hindu community as violent and gravely insulted Hindu society. This is an old habit of Congress. In 2010, P Chidambaram called Hindus terrorists. In 2013, Sushil Shinde also said the same. In 2021, Rahul Gandhi said that "Hindutvavadis" should be expelled from the country," the Union Minister said.

"Rahul has degraded the position of LoP and brought the level of politics down so much. This statement deserves condemnation in the strongest terms," he added.

Rahul Gandhi said in the lower house today that the BJP is not the entire Hindu society. "Narendra Modi is not entire Hindu society. BJP is not the entire Hindu society, RSS is not the entire society, this is not BJP's contract," he said.

"Abhayamudra is the symbol of Congress...The Abhayamudra is the gesture of fearlessness, is the gesture of reassurance and safety, which dispels fear and accords divine protection and bliss in Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism and other Indian religions....All our great men have spoken about non-violence and finishing fear...But, those who call themselves Hindu only talk about violence, hatred, untruth...Aap Hindu ho hi nahi," the Congress leader added.
