Bharatiya Janata Party National president JP Nadda Friday appointed State in-charge and co-in-charge for various states.

New Delhi, July 5: Bharatiya Janata Party National president JP Nadda Friday appointed State in-charge and co-in-charge for various states.

The party has appointed general secretary Vijaypal Singh Tomar as in-charge of Odisha and Lata Usendi as co-in-charge of the State.

General Secretary Vinod Tawde as in-charge of Bihar and MP Deepak Prakash as co-in-charge.

Nitin Nabin has been appointed in charge of Chhattisgarh, Ashish Sood of Goa and Ajeet Gopchade of Manipur.

The states where elections will take place in coming times--Satish Poonia will oversee the work in Haryana, while Surendra Singh Nagar will be his co-incharge.

Tarun Chugh has been appointed in-charge of two UTs--Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Ashish Sood will be in charge in J-K.

Laxmikant Bajpai (MP) will see the work in Jharkhand. In Himachal Pradesh, Srikant Sharma has been appointed as incharge while Sanjay Tandon is the co-in-charge.

Dushyant Kumar Gautam of Uttarakhand and Rekha Verma as co-incharge. BJP senior leader Prakash Javadekar will see the work in Kerala while MP Aparajita Sarangi will be his co-incharge.

BJP MP from Odisha, Sambit Patra, has been appointed as co-ordinator, while former Union Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, will be joint co-ordinator of North East states.

Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi has been named co-in-charge of Kerala.

PM Modi Received By Russia’s First Deputy PM, Accorded Guard Of Honour In Moscow

New Delhi, July 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his arrival in Russia, was accorded guard of honour at VNUKOVO – II International Airport on Monday afternoon.

The itinerary of PM Modi’s two-day trip to Russia includes dinner with the Russian President, interaction with the Indian diaspora and the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit, where the two leaders will discuss many issues of global interest.

What has caught the attention of global experts is the ‘extra attention’ and grand welcome given to PM Modi during his arrival in Russia. PM Modi was received by Russia’s first Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and in a rare gesture, he also accompanied the Indian PM from the airport to the hotel in the same car.

Notably, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping on his recent visit to Russia was received by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, who ranks lower in seniority with the first Deputy PM.

This gesture of providing a red-carpet welcome to the Indian PM by Russia’s highest-ranking official, just below President Putin himself, sends a clear message about the importance that Russia places on its ties with India.

For the unversed, India and Russia ties have weathered many storms in the past and the friendship between two nations has only grown robust and stronger than ever.

On the economic front, Russia has been the biggest arms supplier to India for decades. After its military conflict with Ukraine, India remained one of the biggest buyers of discounted Russian oil, there adding to its earnings and revenue.

While India and Russia participate in the 22th Annual Summit, the world media including the Chinese will have their eyes fixed on the meeting's outcome and conclusions.

Russia, like any other country, may not have been explicit in categorising its ties with neighbouring nations, in terms of preference but it's first-hand’ welcome to Indian PM reiterates the amount of confidence and trust it puts in its relations with India despite the fast-changing global landscape.

This assumes greater significance in light of the fact that India has lately diversified its defence ties with the Western powers, hoping not to remain dependent on one nation for weapons import.

Jamie Dornan's Series ‘The Tourist’ Set To Get An Indian Adaptation

Los Angeles, July 8: Hollywood star Jamie Dornan-starrer thriller television series “The Tourist” is all set to get an Indian adaptation.

Entertainment company Banijay Asia has signed a deal with distributor All3Media International, acquiring the rights to create a local adaptation, reports variety.com.

Written by Harry and Jack Williams, “The Tourist” has Dornan playing a man who wakes up in Australia with amnesia after a near-fatal car crash.

“Seeking answers, he encounters a local woman who remembers him and volunteers to help him rediscover his identity,” the logline said.

The logline further read: “What few clues he can find hint that he has a dark past from which he must escape before it catches up with him.”

The second season of the show, which launched earlier this year, sees the characters relocate to Ireland as the mystery deepens.

The original series was produced by Two Brothers Pictures and Highview Productions.
