Actor and TV Host Shekhar Suman joins the BJP

Prime Minister was given a rousing reception by the BJP leaders on his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport. A tight security arrangement has been made for his visit. 

Party sources said PM Modi will convene a meeting with state BJP leaders in Bhubaneswar and spend the night in the city.

On Monday, the Prime Minister is slated to visit the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and hold a roadshow in the holy city. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Puri for the roadshow of PM Modi.

Later in the day, PM Modi will address two rallies in Cuttack and Angul to seek votes in favour of the BJP candidates.
This will be PM Modi’s third visit to the State during the ongoing election campaigning.

"Congress and BJD have ruled Odisha for many years. They have been indulged in corruption and scams. People have decided to change the government and bless the BJP to form a government this time," Singh said while addressing a massive Vijay Shankalp Yatra at Patana in Keonjhar district today. 

He exuded confidence that the BJP would get the majority of seats and form a government for the first time in Odisha. 

The Union Minister targeted the Naveen Patnaik government over its failures in various sectors. 

He lamented saying that the people of Odisha have been deprived of getting the benefit of Aayushman Bharat schemes due to the callous attitude of the Odisha government. He said promises made in the manifesto will be implemented in letter and spirit after the BJP forms the government. 

Singh alleged that Naveen and his Gumasta are trying to create a Benal-like situation in Odisha. 

"Modi government always keeps its promises. It does what it promises," Singh said.

He said the BJP scrapped Article 370 as promised, built Sri Ram Temple as promised, and nullified Teen Talaak as promised. 

He claimed that Bharat is now more powerful than 10 years ago. Bharat can now give a befitting reply to any country in the world.

PM Modi said the appeasement politics is prompting Trinamool Congress to malign and threaten iconic institutions like Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Bharat Sevashram Sangha and ISKCON.

“From this platform, I am directly accusing the Chief Minister of succumbing to the Islamic fanatics and maligning the saints of these iconic institutions who are engaged in human services. Trinamool Congress is also maligning the Ram Mandir. How long will the people of West Bengal tolerate this? Time has come to give a fitting reply to Trinamool Congress through your votes," the Prime Minister said.

The PM was addressing an election meeting at the Bishnupur Lok Sabha constituency in the Bankura district of West Bengal from where Saumitra Khan is the BJP candidate.

The PM also said that there was a common factor in Congress, Trinamool Congress and the Left parties which is their intention to keep the people poor.

“It seems that Congress, Trinamool and Left Parties are different political entities. But the nature of their sins is the same. So that is why they have united under the INDIA bloc. They want to keep the people poor and so wherever they come to power the economy there becomes bankrupt. West Bengal is the best example on this count. Human Development is not the model for these parties,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also said that after neglecting the refugees in West Bengal for years, Trinamool Congress, Left Parties and Congress never bothered about them but are now opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

“Already 300 refugee families have got citizenship. The refugee families in West Bengal will also get citizenship through CAA. Unfortunately, the basic intention of Trinamool Congress is bad,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also said that he was taking legal advice on how to return the money looted by Trinamool Congress leaders to the people of the state.
