The Man has been identified as Chandrasekhar Panda, a priest of Agneeswar Mahadev temple.
As per reports, Panda was sighted atop the 214 feet high temple near the Neela Chakra by Chunra servitors. He was repeatedly requested by the police and Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) to climb down.
However, after remaining adamant for some time, Panda got down through the roof of Dakshinighar in front of the Mukti Mandap.
Later, Panda was detained by Singhadwar police and is being interrogated in this regard.
It is yet to be ascertained why the servitor unauthorisedly climbed atop the shrine, temple authorities said.
