Cricket lovers have gathered outside the Mayfair Hotel since morning to have glimpse of players, who will leave the hotel at 3 pm and move to Barabati for the match to be started at 7pm.
“I have got a ticket. I have come here (near Hotel Mayfair) with a hope to have glimpse of players from a close,” said a youth who came from south Odisha.
Another youth, who said to have failed to get a ticket despite attempts, said, “I have not got a ticket despite a try. I have come here to have glimpse of players.”
A youth, attired in puranic dress, said he wanted that the match played incident free and love and brotherhood spread among players and visitors. He hoped that bottle throwing doesn’t happen in the stadium at all.
Commenting on the performance of the India team, a youth from Ganjam said, “Batting line up is very good. We have to make some changes in the bowling line up. India will certainly win the match at Barabati.”
Many cricket lovers, interviewed by the Argus News, hoped that the India’s winning will begin from Barabati. They missed Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Yuvaraj like legendary players on the occasion.
