The accused has been identified as Gangadhar Sahoo.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sahoo, simultaneous house searches were conducted on Wednesday at five places in Keonjhar district by five teams of Odisha Vigilance led by three DSPs, five Inspectors, two ASIs and other staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Court of Special Vigilance Judge, Keonjhar.
After a thorough search, inventory and further inquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sahoo were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which is 209 percent of his known sources of income.
In this connection, a case has been registered against Sahoo and his spouse under Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 of the PC Act.
