According to the information, the carcass of the wild animal was spotted by some local residents inside at cashew jungle near Nuabandh Nuataila village under Athagarh forest division this morning and alerted the forest officials. Sources said the elephant has injury marks on its tusks.

Later, the forest department officials reached the spot and seized carcass.
It may be noted that an elephant was electrocuted to death under Gurudijhatia forest range recently.
