The deceased has been identified as a resident of Rangipura village under the same locality.
Police had picked up the accused from his village yesterday morning following a brawl between two groups over a dispute. He had been kept at the police station for questioning last night, when reportedly entered into the women and children cell to hang himself to the ceiling with belt.
While the circumstance which compelled the accused to take the extreme step is not known, police has sent the body for autopsy and started an investigation.
