Heatwave to continue in Odisha after some relief  due to Kalbaisakhi

Bhubaneswar, June 3: The people of Odisha finally had some relief from the scorching heat, thanks to Kalbaisakhi, which the state experienced Sunday evening. However, the relief was shortlived as the IMD, Bhubaneswar has announced that the heat will continue, with chances of rain in some places in the state.

Heatwave will continue for the next couple of days, while there are chances of rain in the next five days, reported IMD. The temperature would rise from 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, while the people of coastal areas will have to deal with humidity till June 7. The coastal areas have been issued yellow alert by the Bhubaneswar IMD.

Few districts, such as Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Bargarh, Nuapara and Kandhamal, could experience heat more than 42 degrees Celsius. The heatwave will continue in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh. Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj, predicted IMD.

IMD has predicted rain with lightning in the state. On the 6th and 7th, the amount of rain will increase and there will be light to moderate rains across the state. At this time, the department has estimated that the gusty winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph. 
On the other hand, while the IMD has not clarified when the monsoon will touch, it has informed that the weather is favorable for monsoon's arrival.
