Supreme Court-Appointed SIT On Black Money To Hold Meeting In Cuttack Today

Cuttack, Aug 28: The Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money will hold a crucial meeting here in Odisha on Wednesday, officials said.

The meeting will be chaired by the panel's vice-chairman Justice (Retired) Arijit Pasayat. Senior officers from IT, ED, Customs and Excise and Central Board of Indirect Tax departments will attend the meeting.

The SIT on black money has already submitted eight reports to the Supreme Court. After today’s meeting, the SIT will submit its ninth interim report to the apex court within 15 days.  

After coming to power in May 2014, the Narendra Modi government, in its first cabinet meeting, approved the appointment of the SIT on black money as directed by the Supreme Court.
