Subhadra Yojana First Installment Distributed In Third Phase

Sundargarh, Nov 24: In the third phase, over 20 lakh women received the first installment of 'Subhadra Yojana, a flagship program of the Odisha government to empower women financially. 

Each beneficiary received Rs 5,000 in her bank account as a direct benefit transfer (DBD). 

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi formally launched the distribution of Subhadra aid at a special program at Sundargarh. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Union Minister Jual Oram were present. 

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said more than 1 crore women will benefit from Subhadra scheme by December. She said women, who have been excluded from the scheme due to various reasons, will be enrolled in the scheme after the reasons are sorted out.
