Strict Action Against Those With Illegal possession Of Govt Quarters, Rent Those Out: Harichandan

Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: Odisha Works Minister has issued warning Sunday to those who are in possession of government quarters illegally and and those who rent their quarters out saying strict action will be taken against them.

"Strict action will be taken against those who rent out the government quarters, they have allotted. The person living on those quarters on rent will also be adjudged guilty and will be severely punished," said Harichandan, who is also the Minister of Law & Excise.

Speaking about the condition of the government quarters, the Works Minister said that many of these quarters are in dilapidated condition.

"In many places, government quarters are in poor condition. Many of the government quarters have been occupied illegally. The GA department is preparing a list on this and the process of removing such persons has been initiated in such places," said Prithviraj Harichandan.

He said that arrangement of allotting the govt quarters will be done according to the rules. "The government is planning to demolish areas where houses are old or outdated. Those houses will be remodeled to accommodate more people. Our government is working in that regard," Harichandan signed off.
