Rainwater-Soaked Mud Wall Collapses In Mayurbhanj Village; Woman Dies

Mayurbhanj, Sept 15: In a tragic mishap, a woman died and her son and daughter-in-law narrowly escaped as a wall of their house collapsed after being soaked in rainwater in Badabil village under the Gorumahishani police station in Mayurbhanj district on the wee hours of Sunday. 

The deceased has been identified as Pangla Pingua (50)

According to information, six members of the family slept in their mud-walled house last night after having dinner as usual. At around 3:30 am, the mud wall collapsed after being soaked in rain rainwater for hours, crushing three of them. While a woman died on the spot, her son and daughter-in-law escaped narrowly. 

On being informed, a team of Gorumhisani Police went to the village and registered a case. They sent the deceased woman's body for post-mortem. 

The incident has shocked the villagers.
