Bhadrak, Sept 19: Bhadrak district administration imposed a curfew at Gudupokhari under Dhusuri police station limits as tension ran high after a group clash erupted leaving five people injured, one of them critically, on Thursday.

The group clash erupted after a flag of a minor community was uprooted at Gudupokhar under Dayangdihi gram panchayat. In the fight, five people were injured. While all of them were rushed to the Bhadra District Headquarters Hospital, one of them was shifted to Cuttack because of his critical condition.

As palpable tension prevailed, police personnel from Dhusuri and Dhamnagar Police Stations went to the village and tried to placate the situation.

To bring the situation under control, the Bhadrak Sub-Collector ordered the promulgation of a curfew under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarika Suraksha Sahmita (BJSS) for almost two days from 2 pm of September 19 to 10 am of September 21.

Sources said police arrested three of attackers' group and forwarded them to the court. Further investigation is underway.
