Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister of Law, Excise & Works, said Sunday that the repair and restoration works of the Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath Temple to begin in a day or two.
"The repair works of Puri Ratna Bhandar will begin in a day or two," said the Law Minister. He also said that the repair works as well as the counting of jewel and ornaments will be completed by January 31.
The Works Minister also spoke about the GPR-GPS report. "The GPS report revealed that there isn't any hidden/additional chamber or tunnel. Previously the Ratna Bhandar was supposed to have something metallic, but nothing was found in this regard," stated Prithviraj Harichandan.
He said that ASI will submit the schedule of repair works Sunday. "In the second phase, the discussion with the Chhatisha Nijog and the temple administration is over," said the Law Minister.
"ASI will submit the repair works' schedule today. The temple administration has already given permission to ASI to start the work immediately," added Prithviraj Harichandan.
Harichandan said that the repair works will begin in a day or two once the inside of the Ratna Bhandar gets cleaned. "Once the repair works is completed, the jewel and ornaments will be shifted from the temporary strongroom to the Ratna Bhandar," said the Works Minister.
After the repair and restoration works, the Ratna Bhandar will be handed over to the inventorisation committee for the inventory of jewels and ornaments of the Holy Trinity -- Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
