PM Modi Inaugurates, Lays Foundation Stones Of 3 Health Projects In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 29: On the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti and 9th Ayurveda Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for three projects related to the health sector in Odisha.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory at Gothapatna here and a 50-bed critical care block at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bargarh.

PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the Central Research Institute in Yoga and Naturopathy at Jatni, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.    

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling attended the inauguration of the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory, while local MPs and MLAs participated in the events at Jatni and Bargarh.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Majhi said the Odisha government will implement Ayushman Bharat scheme soon and added that the left-out eligible beneficiaries will get the benefits of the scheme.

The Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will also continue in the state, he said.

Notably, PM Modi today launched, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple projects related to the health sector worth around Rs 12,850 crore at All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi.

The Prime Minister asserted that augmenting the healthcare infrastructure is the government’s priority as the nation’s progress accelerates when its citizens are healthier.
