Persons, Who Suffer Due To Gas Cylinder Explosion, To Be Compensated by Insurance Companies: HC

Cuttack, Oct 26: The insurance companies will compensate people affected by cooking gas cylinder explosion, rules Orissa High Court.

The HC, in its ruling, said that people who become physically disabled by 50 per cent due to explosion of gas cylinder, will get a compensation of Rs 5 lakh.

According to the earlier rules of nationalised Gasoline companies, people who die due to exploxion, used to get Rs 5 lakhs while injured persons used to get Rs 1 lakh for treatment or medical expenses.

The Orissa HC gave this ruling after cosidering the fact that the affected people usually go through pain and suffering as well as the loss of job.
