Odisha: Woman Gangraped In Front Of Fiance In Nayagarh, Three Arrested

Nayagarh, Oct 26: Police on Saturday arrested three persons for allegedly gang raping a 21-year-old woman in the presence of her fiance at Fathegarh in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, a senior police officer said.

Nayagarh SP S Susree said, the incident took place on October 20 evening when the woman and her fiancee were returning from the Fategarh Ram Temple.

A group of men allegedly intercepted the couple near the Pithakhai forest and forcefully took them to the nearby jungle. There, they gang-raped her, while holding her fiancee at knife-edge, the SP said.

The accused persons also filmed the horror on a mobile phone and uploaded a video of it on social media. The video has since gone viral.

They also robbed the woman and her fiance of Rs 48,000 and warned them to face consequence in case they reported the matter to the police.

Later, the victim lodged a complaint at Fatehgarh Police Station in this connection following which the accused trio was arrested and forwarded to the court.
