Our ‘Dharma’ Is Not To Enjoy Power, But To Serve People: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Sambalpur, Nov 7: Senior BJP leader and Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday welcomed several leaders from different political parties to the saffron party at a ‘Misrana Parba’ (Joining ceremony) here in Odisha and said, “Our ‘Dharma’ (duty) is not to enjoy power, but to serve the people.”

Several Sarpanches, public representatives and leaders from BJD as well as Congress of Rairakhol Assembly constituency today joined the BJP at the ‘Misrana Parba’, organized by BJP’s Sambalpur district unit, here in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior leaders of the saffron party.

Welcoming the leaders to the party-fold, Pradhan thanked them for joining the saffron party by keeping their trust in the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the work of the BJP government in the State.

The Union Minister said that the joining of these leaders will further strengthen BJP organisation at the grassroot level in Sambalpur district.

“Our ‘Dharma’ is not to enjoy power, but to serve the people. We activists will work keeping service as priority. Let’s take the resposibilities of how the benefits of the various welfare schemes of the Central Government and the State Government will reach the people,” Pradhan said.

Pradhan also urged the party leaders to do their duty at their own level to make Sambalpur a clean and beautiful city.

Earlier in the day, Union Minister Pradhan, who represents Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency, visited Maa Samaleswari Temple here and offered prayers to the goddess.

Pradhan also inaugurated a new building at the Padiabahal Community Health Centre under the Jujumara block in the district. 

The Minister also attended a get-together at the Khetarajpur Jagannath Temple and subsequently Chhatpuja Utsav at different places on his second day of Sambalpur visit today.
