Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Sambalpur MP and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are among 40 star campaigners named by the BJP for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly polls.
The list include BJP top leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national president JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The list was furnished to the Election Commission of India yesterday.
The state’s 81 assembly seats will be contested in two phases, with voting for 43 seats set to take place on November 13 for the first phase, giving parties and candidates just 18 days to campaign for this phase.
It may be noted that Mohan Charan Majhi is leading the first-ever BJP government in Odisha after a landslide victory achieved by the party in the last general elections held in May-June this year. During the last four months, the Mohan Majhi government has taken many pro-people and women empowerment projects to its credit. Subhadra Yojana, launched in July, is all set to make women financially empowered.
Recently, Pradhan added another feather to his success cap as elections fought under his leadership in Haryana gave the BJP a third consecutive term to rule the State.
