Miscreants Fire At Petrol Pump Staff, Loot Rs 12 Lakh In Balasore

Balasore, July 8: In a broad daylight robbery, six motorcycle-borne miscreants shot at two petrol pump staff and looted cash worth around Rs 12 lakh in front of a bank at Bartana Bazar under Kharia police limits in Odisha's Balasore district on Tuesday.

As per reports, the incident took place when Ajay Mohapatra and Bishnupada Mohapatra, staff of Kupeswar petrol pump of Kupari, were heading towards the Indian Bank's Bartana branch for depositing cash worth Rs 12 lakh.

Six miscreants came on two motor-cycles and forced Ajay and Bishnupada to stop in front of the bank. Then, they opened fire at the duo following which one bullet hit Bishnupada's left leg and snatched the bag containing cash from him.

Then, the miscreants fled from the spot taking the bag containing cash worth around Rs 12 lakh.

Locals rescued the injured person and rushed him to Khaira Hospital for his treatment.

After getting information, Kharia Police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
