ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Starts Today; India To Take On New Zealand Tomorrow

Sharjah, Oct 3: The ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will begin today when host nation Bangladesh face debutant Scotland at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE.

Team India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, begin it campaigning tomorrow, playing against New Zealand. The highly anticipated and fan-favourite India vs. Pakistan match is scheduled for this Sunday.

India will hope that 2024 is their year to a win first ICC World Cup, having been runners up three times – in the 2020 T20 World Cup and the 2005 and 2017 50-over tournaments.

Australia, the defending champions who have won the last three T20 World Cups, are in Group A alongside India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Group B includes Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies.

A total of ten teams will participate in the event, which will conclude on the 20th of this month.
