Bhubaneswar, Oct 3: Odisha is expected to witness rainfall in the next seven days by the impact of a low-pressure area likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood on October 4 and the continuation of the withdrawal process of the Southwest Monsoon.
Due to the expected low pressure, Odisha is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall across districts till 8.30 am, a midday release of the India Meteorological Department read.
The IMD issued yellow warning of thunderstorms and lightning very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nawarangpur.
Though light to moderate rainfall/thundershower is expected to occur at various places till the morning of October 10, the IMD has not issued any warning for October 4 to 10.
The bulleting also informed that the highest maximum temperature of 37.2°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 22.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.
