Bhubaneswar, July 8: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with lightning over several districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours.
The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Kandhamal and Gajapati during the next 24 hours.
Similarly, a yellow warning has been issued for thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati during the period.
The Met Centre also predicted light to moderate rain or thundershower in almost all the districts of the State during the next seven days.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall has occurred at many places over the districts of Odisha with very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack & Keonjhar and heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Ganjam & Sambalpur in the State in last 24 hours.
