Bhubaneswar, July 11: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday expressed his grief over the demise of Gajapati ADM Birendra Das, who collapsed on the stage while singing a Jagannath bhajan and later died.
"I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the untimely demise of Additional District Magistrate of Gajapati District Birendra Kumar Das. He was a dedicated and responsible officer and always worked for the service of the public. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family. May the departed soul rest in peace!" CM Majhi said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

According to sources, Das, who was serving as ADM (Revenue) in Gajapati district, collapsed on the stage while singing a Jagannath bhajan at a get-together of government officials in Paralakhemundi last evening.
The ADM was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Paralakhemundi. After primary treatment, he was shifted to MKCG Medical and Hospital in Berhampur, where doctors declared him dead.
