Jajpur, Nov 20: Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo was allegedly attacked by BJD “goons”  in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Wednesday evening.

As per reports, the incident took place near Budapolo under Jajpur Sadar police limits little while ago when the legislator was heading to Jajpur Collectorate to attend an official meeting.

Sahoo, who joined BJP after being elected as MLA as an Independent candidate in the 2024 general elections, accused former MLA and senior BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das of orchestrating an attack on him.

“ A group of BJD goons stopped my vehicle on my way to Collectorate here and attacked me. Taking Bobby Das’ (Pranab Prakash Das) name, the goons committed hooliganism like this,” MLA Sahoo told reporters.

“I will lodge an FIR against Bobby Das and his brother Lala Das for this attack,” he added.

After getting information, Jajpur SP Yash Pratap Shrimal rushed to the spot and started an investigation.

“All the culprits involved in the attack on MLA will be arrested soon,” Jajpur SP said.

MLA Sahoo earlier sought adequate security at his office in Dharmasala and residence in Bhubaneswar, apprehending attacks by his opponents.
