Puri, Jan 3: Migratory and country birds will be enumerated in the Chilika Lake, Asia's largest brackish water lagoon and the second largest coastal lagoon in the world, tomorrow.
According to the information, special teams will count the migratory birds that have come to the lake from different parts of the world and country birds that have come from across the country.
For smooth enumeration, the entire lake has been divided into five zones.
A total of 21 teams, comprising experts and trained counters, will be engaged. While eight will be engaged in the Tangi range, five will count birds in Balugaon, three in Satapada, and five teams in the Nuapada and Rambha range. A total of 150 enumerates will count across the five zones.
Counting will be undertaken from 6 am to 12 pm on Thursday, informed the DFO.
