Bhubaneswar, Sep 3: A horrific series of road accidents shook Bhubaneswar early Thursday morning when an SUV lost control and rammed into a tea stall under the Palasuni foot overbridge.
The incident occurred around 4:10 am, leaving several people injured as locals were gathered at the stall for tea.
Eyewitnesses reported that the SUV suddenly veered off course, crashing into the tea shop before colliding with two parked cars and two motorcycles.

✨The impact left four people critically injured, while the driver of the SUV was also hurt and admitted to hospital.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot immediately. Two PCR vans from Mancheswar police station, one from Pahal, one from Saheed Nagar, and a highway patrol vehicle reached the scene to carry out rescue operations. Victims were quickly transported to the nearest medical facility — one in a PCR van and others in two ambulances.
The accident site turned chaotic as damaged vehicles and debris blocked the road. Authorities confirmed that all the vehicles involved were taken to Mancheswar police station. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.
Residents expressed shock at the incident, noting that the
tea stall is a popular gathering spot in the early hours. The sudden accident
has raised concerns about reckless driving and road safety in the city. Police
officials assured that a thorough probe will be conducted.
