Bhadrak, Aug 13: A 30-year-old man died after his scooter collided with a three-wheeler cargo carrier on the Sheulagadia-Kadabarang road under Agarpada police station limits in Bhadrak district, a source said Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Sameer Das, son of Sunil Das from Kuaranda village.

According to the source, Sameer was travelling towards Bhadrak on his scooter from his home when a vehicle allegedly approached from the opposite direction at high speed.

Rider Loses Control, Hits Goods Auto-Rickshaw
The approaching vehicle reportedly caused Sameer to lose control of his scooter. He then crashed into the rear of the cargo carrier travelling ahead of him.

The impact threw Sameer several metres away from his scooter, leaving him seriously injured, the source added.

Locals immediately came to his aid and shifted him to the Agarpada Community Health Centre for treatment.

Victim Succumbs During Treatment
As his condition was critical, Sameer was subsequently shifted to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital.

However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

Following the accident, police seized both the three-wheeler cargo carrier and the damaged scooter. An investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal crash is underway.

Truck Crashes Into Drain In Binika
In a separate incident, a truck loaded with scrap materials crashed after allegedly hitting a road divider and subsequently entered a roadside drain near Dabhla Square under Binika police station limits in Subarnapur district.

The truck was reportedly travelling from Bhanjanagar towards Raipur carrying scrap materials when the accident took place.

Tea Stall Customers Escape
The truck veered off the road and entered the drain after hitting the divider. Several people who were having tea at a nearby tea stall escaped narrowly.

The truck driver also escaped unhurt in the accident.
