Fire Mishap / Inferno on Yamuna Expressway: Nine Dead in Bus Fire

Greater Noida, Sep 24: A devastating fire engulfed a double‑decker bus on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida, leaving nine passengers, including a woman, charred to death, officials confirmed on Thursday.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Jewar police station, sparking panic among the more than 30 passengers onboard. Many leapt out of windows to escape, while nine were trapped inside and burnt alive in the blaze.

Authorities said the bus was travelling from Noida towards Mahoba when the fire broke out. “Nine passengers, including a woman, were trapped inside and burnt alive in the massive blaze,” officials stated.

Rescue teams from the fire brigade and Jewar police rushed to the scene, breaking windows to evacuate passengers and bring those trapped to safety. Several passengers were rescued unharmed.
