Bhubaneswar, Sep 7: Odisha is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall over the next three days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a fresh spell of heavy rain from September 9.
At present, rainfall activity and its spread remain limited across the state. However, the weather department has forecast increasing rainfall activity from September 9.
Yellow Warning Issued For September 9
For the 24 hours from 8:30 am on September 9 to 8:30 am on September 10, a yellow warning has been issued for Baleshwar, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj districts, where heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 30-40 kmph are also very likely at one or two places in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada districts.

For the 24 hours from 8:30 am on September 10 to 8:30 am on September 11, heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Kataka, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph at one or two places in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada districts.

Rain Activity Likely To Shift South Odisha
For the 24 hours from 8:30 am on September 12 to 8:30 am on September 13, heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places in Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati and Ganjam districts.
The weather outlook indicates a broader spell of heavy rainfall across parts of Odisha from September 9, with the focus shifting to southern districts by September 12.
