Bulawayo, Feb 1: Avenging their defeat in the Asia Cup final, India qualified for the semi-finals of the Under-19 World Cup 2026 after beating Pakistan by 58 runs in their final Super Six match on Sunday at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

The Ayush Mhatre-led side maintained its unbeaten run in the tournament and finished on top of Super Sixes Group 2 with eight points. India advanced to the semi-finals alongside England, while Australia and Afghanistan qualified from Group 1.

Chasing 253, Pakistan needed to reach the target within 33.3 overs to stay in contention for the semi-finals. However, they failed to show urgency and were bowled out for 194 in 46.2 overs.

Pakistan lost opener Sameer Minhas early, dismissed lbw by Henil Patel for nine. Hamza Zahoor (42) and Usman Khan (66) added 65 runs for the second wicket, followed by a 63-run third-wicket stand between Usman and captain Farhan Yousaf (38). Despite the partnerships, Pakistan scored at a slow pace and never threatened the required run rate.

India’s bowlers took control in the latter stages, with Mhatre returning figures of 3 for 21 from eight overs and Khilan Patel claiming 3 for 35. Pakistan lost their last eight wickets for 43 runs.

Earlier, India were bowled out for 252 in 49.5 overs after being sent in to bat. Vedant Trivedi top-scored with 68 off 98 balls, while Kanishk Chouhan made 35 and RS Ambrish added 29. Abdul Subhan was the standout bowler for Pakistan with figures of 3 for 33.
