Argus News - Palash Muchhal Also Hospitalised After Mandhana’s Father Falls Ill

Mumbai, Nov 24: After a medical emergency involving her father, Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana faced another setback when her fiancé, music composer Palash Muchhal, was also taken to a hospital.

Mandhana’s wedding ceremony had to be halted on Sunday after her father, Srinivas Mandhana, experienced severe chest pain that resembled heart attack symptoms. An ambulance was immediately rushed to the venue, and he was admitted to a local hospital for treatment. Smriti reportedly refused to proceed with the ceremony in her father’s absence.

Meanwhile, Palash Muchhal was later taken to a private hospital after his health condition deteriorated. Reports suggested that he was suffering from a viral infection and increased acidity, but the issue was not serious. After receiving treatment, he was discharged and returned to his hotel.

Providing an update on Mr Mandhana’s health, family doctor Dr Naman Shah told PTI that he is under observation and showing signs of improvement.

“At around 1.30 pm, Mr Srinivas Mandhana experienced left-sided chest pain, which we call angina in medical terms. We shifted him to the hospital immediately. ECG and other reports showed elevated cardiac enzymes, so we need to observe him further,” he said.

The doctor added that Mr Mandhana’s blood pressure was also high and is now being monitored and stabilised by a medical team. He further mentioned that angiography could be required if the condition worsens.
