Dubai, September 11: In a landmark move to strengthen bilateral cooperation in education, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is set to inaugurate the Dubai campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, today. This marks the first international expansion of the prestigious Indian management institute, signalling a new chapter in India-UAE academic collaboration.
Earlier this week, the Minister also inaugurated the Symbiosis International University campus in Dubai, reinforcing India’s commitment to globalizing its higher education institutions. These developments are part of a broader initiative to establish Indian educational campuses across the UAE, aimed at fostering academic exchange and delivering quality education to the Indian diaspora.
During his visit, Pradhan toured the IIT Delhi–Abu Dhabi campus and launched the Atal Incubation Centre. The inauguration of PhD and B.Tech programs at the Abu Dhabi campus further highlights the growing footprint of Indian technical education abroad.

✨In a high-level meeting with Sara Musallam, Chairperson of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Education and Knowledge, discussions centred on promoting student exchange programs starting from the school level. The initiative is expected to enhance cross-cultural learning and innovation between the two nations.
Speaking to media, Pradhan emphasized that several countries have expressed interest in hosting Indian educational institutions, recognizing their global reputation for academic excellence.
The establishment of IIM Ahmedabad’s Dubai campus is poised to serve not only the Indian community in the UAE but also international students seeking world-class management education rooted in Indian ethos.
