Sambalpur, Aug 28: Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan celebrated the auspicious occasion of Nuakhai by offering prayers to Maa Samaleswari, the presiding deity of Sambalpur, and partaking in the ceremonial “Nabanna Prasad” within the temple premises here in Odisha on Thursday.


Accompanied by Odisha Minister Suresh Pujari, Sambalpur MLA Jay Narayan Mishra, prominent journalists, friends from outside the state and family members, Pradhan partook the ‘Nabanna Prasad’ at the temple premises, emphasizing the cultural and agricultural significance of Nuakhai.


Speaking to the media, Pradhan expressed his gratitude for receiving Maa Samaleswari’s blessings on this sacred day. “Nuakhai is a festival of intimacy, farmers’ progress, and cultural unity. This special festival creates feelings of compassion, brotherhood, and harmony in society. It also brings hope and possibilities for all,” he said.
