Berhampur, Nov 24: Berhampur University is set to host the fifth edition of the Odisha Research Conclave 2025, often described as the “State Research Mahakumbh.” Scheduled from November 27 to 29, the three-day event will bring together 657 researchers, faculty members, and academicians from 17 state universities under the Odisha government, officials said on Monday.
Record Participation
This year marks the highest-ever participation in the history of the conclave, setting a new record. The event will include 257 researchers under the Chief Minister’s Research and Innovation Fellowship Program, along with 400 scholars and faculty funded by premier institutions such as DST, SERB, ICSSR, BRNS, DAE, and DBT.
Academic Sessions and Innovations
The conclave will feature eight thematic sessions focusing on research progress, project outcomes, patents, and startup innovations. Poster presentations will showcase research abstracts, while discussions will highlight the role of research in building a “Developed Odisha and Developed India.” Eminent scientists, educationists, and industry experts will deliberate on strategies for effective implementation of research outcomes.

Distinguished Guests
The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Biju Patnaik Auditorium, with poster exhibitions at the stadium. Odisha’s Higher Education Minister Surjyabanshi Suraj, Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, and local MP Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi have been invited. Senior officials including Higher Education Secretary Aravind Agrawal, Hyderabad Central University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vijay Rao, ICSSR Secretary Prof. Dhananjay Singh, and Padma Shri A.P. Dash will also attend.
Organizing Efforts
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Geetanjali Dash has formed 11 committees to ensure smooth execution, with Prof. Siddharth Shankar Panda appointed as the nodal officer. Special arrangements for accommodation, food, transport, and security have been made for participants arriving from across Odisha. Cultural programs will also be organized in the evenings to enrich the conclave experience.
