Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday convened a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan here to review the state’s law and order situation. He directed senior police officials to maintain strict surveillance over anti-social and disruptive elements across all regions of the state, officials said.

 

CM Calls for Firm Action Against Instigators

During the review, the Chief Minister expressed concern over attempts by certain motivated groups to tarnish Odisha’s image as a peaceful state. He emphasized the need for firm action against such individuals and instructed police authorities to remain alert and proactive in maintaining public order.

 

Cuttack Situation Under Control

The meeting also addressed recent disturbances in Cuttack. Officials informed that the situation has largely normalized, with curfew lifted and internet services restored. However, CM Majhi advised police to remain vigilant and avoid complacency, stressing that no environment of unrest should be allowed to resurface.

Calls For Community Engagement

To restore social harmony in Cuttack, the Chief Minister urged senior police officers to continue engaging with community leaders and concerned stakeholders. He reiterated his earlier appeal to residents to uphold peace and brotherhood in the city.

Condolences Over Lawyer’s Murder

Expressing sorrow over the murder of Berhampur-based lawyer and BJP leader Pitabash Panda, the Chief Minister instructed police to swiftly apprehend the culprits and ensure exemplary punishment under the law.
