Bhubaneswar, Sep 19: In a major push toward industrial growth and employment generation, the Odisha government on Friday approved 25 new industrial projects worth Rs 4,739 crore across 13 key sectors, officials said.
The decision was taken during the 140th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
Employment Boost Across Districts
These new industrial projects are expected to create over 25,200 jobs across districts including Khordha, Jajpur, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Angul, and Gajapati. The sectors covered range from textiles and steel to IT, chemicals, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, and cold storage.

✨The textile sector received the highest number of approvals. A private firm will invest Rs 700.29 crore in Khordha to set up an integrated textile facility, generating 1,010 jobs. Another company will establish a knitted fabric and garment unit in the same district with Rs209.36 crore investment, creating 1,080 jobs.
Major Industrial Expansions
Among the significant proposals, a private company will expand its operations in Jharsuguda with a rolling mill, pellet plant, DRI, billet plant, and captive power plant, investing ₹990 crore and generating 2,000 jobs. In Ganjam, Rs 320.70 crore will be invested in a treatment, storage, and disposal facility, creating 145 jobs. Jajpur will see a Rs 205.44 crore carbon electrode paste manufacturing plant, expected to generate 600 jobs.
