Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad Takes Oath as Odisha High Court Judge

Cuttack, May 12: In a significant judicial development, Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad was sworn in as a Judge of the Orissa High Court on Monday.
The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Old Building of the Orissa High Court, where Chief Justice Harish Tandon administered the oath of office.
Justice Shripad, who previously served as a Judge of the Karnataka High Court, was transferred to Odisha following a recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium. His transfer was officially notified by the Ministry of Law and Justice on May 1.
The event was attended by other judges of the Orissa High Court, along with Additional Secretary of the Home Department, Satyabrata Sahu. Justice Shripad’s appointment increases the total number of judges in the Orissa High Court to 19.
A Distinguished Legal Career
Justice Shripad enrolled as an advocate in July 1989 and has had an illustrious career specialising in Writs, Election Laws, and Service Laws. He has represented various institutions, including the Election Commission of India, University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
His tenure in the Karnataka High Court saw him preside over several landmark cases, including the Hijab ban judgment in 2022. With his new role in Odisha, he is expected to bring his expertise to the judicial system of the state.
