Nuapada, Nov 6: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday launched a
powerful campaign in support of BJP candidate Jay Dholakia for the upcoming
Nuapada bypoll, pledging comprehensive development for the region.
Addressing a massive public gathering in Komna, CM Majhi emphasized that the
BJP is committed to transforming Nuapada with a Rs 1,400 crore development
package.
“Jay Will Listen to You, I Will Listen to Jay”
CM Majhi assured voters that Jay Dholakia, a hardworking youth leader, would serve as a direct bridge between the people and the government. “Jay will listen to your concerns, and I will listen to Jay. That is my promise to Nuapada,” he declared.
Sharp Critique of BJD and Congress
The Chief Minister criticized opposition leader Naveen Patnaik for allegedly calling Dholakia a traitor, questioning the ethics of such remarks. He accused the BJD of political manipulation and candidate poaching, citing examples from Bijepur, Kakatur, and other constituencies. “If BJD can import candidates from outside, why call a local son like Jay a traitor?” he asked.

CM Majhi also highlighted BJP’s governance achievements,
including increased paddy procurement rates, implementation of the Subhadra
Yojana for women, and improved grievance redressal mechanisms. He contrasted
this with the previous government’s unfulfilled promises and lack of grassroots
engagement.

Emotional Tribute and Roadshow
The BJP leader paid floral tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Gautam Airstrip before leading a grand roadshow to Komna, where thousands lined the streets to welcome him. The rally was attended by senior BJP leaders including Deputy CM K.V. Singh Deo, MP Malavika Devi, and former state president Basanta Panda.
CM Majhi concluded by urging voters to elect Jay Dholakia,
son of late MLA Rajendra Dholakia, to ensure Nuapada’s holistic development
under BJP’s leadership.
Nuapada Bypoll on Nov 11
Notably, the November 11 Nuapada bypoll was necessitated by
the demise of former BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia. A total of 14 candidates are
contesting the bypoll, including BJP’s Jay Dholakia, BJD nominee Snehangini
Chhuria, and Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi.
