Nuapada, Oct 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially announced Jay Dholakia as its candidate for the upcoming Nuapada Assembly by-election, scheduled for November 11.
Jay is the son of late MLA Rajendra Dholakia, whose untimely demise necessitated the bypoll.
The announcement was made by the BJP’s Central Election Committee, confirming earlier speculations following Jay’s induction into the party on October 11. Jay, once seen as a potential BJD candidate, switched allegiance to the BJP, marking a significant political shift in the region.
